When I was in College, I took an intro to photography class and learned how to develop photos in a darkroom. I thought it was such a cool process, but it really made me value how much easier it is these days with instant gratification on LCD screens! Those old-time photographers were very dedicated! One of my nephews was born 14 years ago and he became one of my first subjects. From there, I moved onto photographing my niece, beaches on the Cape, and our pug, Charlie, who passed away a few years ago. As I started to branch out, I offered photo sessions to friends and my business started to grow through word of mouth.

I consider myself a true Cape Codder, having moved here when I was 4 years old, but to the “real” Cape Codders, I’m a wash-ashore. I’ve spent most of my life in Massachusetts but we did move down to Philadelphia for a while to be closer to my wife’s family. After a little bit, we ended up moving back to the Cape in 2012. As much as we love the Summers here, the winters are getting a little cold and we’re considering becoming early snowbirds - Let me know if you have some warm weather suggestions!

In April of 2021, our son, Amir, was born and I became a Mom - my favorite role yet. His birth also gave me a new understanding for how much parents are pulling together when they show up to their photo sessions! I feel so lucky to be working in a job I love and it’s been so much fun watching our little guy grow!

I’ve always valued photography but now, seeing him get so big, I LOVE having photos to look back on. Most of them are just Iphone photos, printed at Shutterfly, and for memories, they’re just as good as fancy photo sessions and professional lab prints. Even though you may not feel like you want to, I think the most important thing is that you get in the photos. I’ve learned not to put off taking a photo because you aren’t happy with your appearance or because you want to wait to….lose weight, cut your hair, buy a nice outfit…and any other reason that’s easy to say. One day, photos are all someone will have of you…and photos are the only true memory of how little your babies were.

The biggest reason I love photography so much is because I get to help people see the love that’s around them. The snuggles from their kids, the cute looks from a spouse, the laughs that come with all of it - My goal is that when you get your photos back from me, you can see and feel the love.
